Stability and safety

Stability is the first fundamental element which has a direct impact on safety. With increasing miniaturisation of network equipment resulting in higher densities, server racks must handle heavier loads. BKT 4DC racks, equipped with a specially bent closed profile connected to a welded frame, form a framework with the capacity of 1,500 kg. Standard four-point locks and internal hinges protect valuable devices installed in racks from unauthorised access.

BKT 4DC racks can be quickly and smoothly configured even by the most demanding user, owing to the applied innovative, tool-free system for installation of individual rack components. No tools are necessary to install 19” profiles, configure the base, assemble/disassemble the door and side walls. 

Good ventilation 

A tendency of packing equipment components in dense structures, which leads to increased heat dissipation, imposes a necessity for server racks to provide proper ventilation. A sufficient quantity of cool air must be fed to the rack fronts, while a suitable quantity of hot air must be taken from the rear parts. BKT 4DC racks, due to their optimised perforation surfaces and additional components ensuring closure of the cold/hot zone, can handle the most efficient cooling systems.        

Flexibility

BKT 4DC racks ensure different installation variants of 19” profiles.

A user is able to reach 21” spacing and mount profiles asymmetrically by using standard components. 

A common problem (in particular for 600 mm wide racks) is installation of vertical power strips. In BKT 4DC racks, vertical power strips can be installed without interfering with the 19” installation area. This facilitates installation and operation of devices. 

Power distribution systems

The commercial offer of power distribution systems is very rich. Either simple solutions or smart systems can be applied. Some of them are intended to monitor distribution unit power supply and operating environment conditions. The offer of BKT Elektronik ensures an optimal solution.   

A wide range of PDU enclosures guarantees optimal use of the rack space. The enclosures are made of anodised aluminium and they are available in two height versions of 1 U and 1,4 U. When selecting a unit, maximum load is an important parameter. For this, models of 2500 and 4000 W are available with power consumption of 10 and 16 A respectively. PDUs also come in variants suitable for vertical enclosures. The maximum capacity of these devices is 4000 W. In the vertical version, units of maximum load of 32 A (8000 W) are available.

The BKT Elektronik offer includes power distribution units provided for panel installation in the 19” system. Depending on needs, supply of electric power to the unit is provided by a universal DIN 49441 (16A, 250 V) plug or IEC 320 C14 (10A, 250 V) plug on a 3 x 1.5 mm² (H05VV-F3) cable (2.3 m in length).
